Ammonium paratungstate (APT) removing sodium can be used in production of fine grain size tungsten powder, Sodium content will affect grain size of tungsten powder. Calcine APT with high sodium content will obtain tungsten oxide powder with high sodium content. APT with low sodium content will produce fine grain size tungsten powder.
Sodium ion in APT crystalline solution exists as sodium paratungstate. Composition and structure of ammonium paratungstate and sodium paratungstate are similar, sodium can replace or act as impurity ion or surface chemical absorption method into lattice of APT.
Ammonium paratungstate removing sodium can be operated from the following different aspects:
1.Research shows that improve the initial WO3 concentrate of ammonium tungstate solution is an important method to reduce sodium content in APT.
2.Increase crystallization temperature and reduce time can help removing sodium from APT.
3.By washing and eliminating sodium ion and mother liquid leaved out in crystalline gap of APT can largely decrease sodium content.
4.Lower mixing strength and APT crystalline rate can also reduce sodium content.
